VW GOLF R MK7.5 Estate Forge Motorsport FMIC install
The MK7.5 Golf R shares its engine with some of its VAG family. But unfortunately the stock intercooler is also shared with lesser powered versions like the 1.8 tsi etc. This means that it struggles to cool down the Intake temps on the bigger IS38 equipped vehicles.
On the Dyno even with stock boost the Intake temps can be see rising toward 60 Degrees. Which in turn causes the engine ECU to retard the timing to keep it all safe and well.
The direct replacement Forge Motorsport Intercooler is the ideal upgrade.

The Stock Cooler
The Upgrade:
On the dyno this alone makes a 7-10Bhp difference through out the rev range, but also manages consistent results.
Intake temps dropped by around 15 degrees and vehicle had zero timing pull in the hot climate.
