TAROX big brake kits are always tailored to the vehicle, offering owners improved braking across all aspects of driving whilst maintaining a firm usable pedal. TAROX kits often offer a decrease in crucial un-sprung weight and, very often, due to the slim profile of the calipers, fit inside an OEM wheel.
When developing kits we use state-of-the-art live brake ‘mapping’ ECU plug-ins and pedal pressure sensors. With this we can achieve an accurate measurement of a car’s standard performance. These procedures allow us to gather data to ensure real improvements to performance, pedal feel and durability. TAROX tailors the size and number of pistons for every application individually, maximising the braking performance available from a vehicle’s master cylinder and brake servo without negatively affecting the feel of the brake pedal.
Calipers
All TAROX big brake kits feature calipers CNC machined from the highest quality billet alloy and each unit is built and tested by hand at our Italian factory. The two piece design is held together with multiple high tensile steel bolts proven to provide a stiffer overall chassis then mono block calipers. This stiffness translates to a more responsive pedal even with increased levels of braking force. The anodised billet pistons feature multiple internal seals reducing the risk of scorching, eliminating weathering and negating the need for routine servicing. Calipers can be specified with our standard hard anodised black finish (450 wickers) or from a choice of anodised colours. We currently offer our calipers in black, red, blue, and gold; all with a beautiful satin finish.
Discs
In most kits, calipers are combined with handed two piece discs with rotors CNC machined from slices of the finest quality European steel billet. These rotors are heat treated, faced, then hand finished, creating a perfectly flat braking surface. The bell of the disc is machined from the same high quality alloy as the calipers and is hard anodised for protection from the elements. Discs can be specified with the following facings:
- F2000 – long curved grooves
- Sport Japan – drilled and grooved
- C83 – short straight grooves
- D95 – drilled only (not recommended for road use)
- ZERO – plain braking surface
Pads
All TAROX kits come with pre-installed pads and can be specified with either of the following compounds to suit your own individual needs:
Corsa: track compound suitable for fast road
Enduro: track & race use – not suitable for road use
Further details about each compound can be found on our brake pad page.
Hoses
Every big brake kit comes supplied with a pair of braided brake hoses tailored specifically for your car and the TAROX calipers. A Teflon coated inner hose is strengthened with a stainless steel braid and then wrapped in a PVC outer coating for protection from the elements.
…and finally
Each kit is supplied with a pair of vehicle specific mounting brackets which are CNC machined from the same light weight billet alloy as the calipers and bells. The brackets are also hard anodised for protection and are accompanied by all of the necessary mounting hardware to allow easy fitment straight out of the box.

Tarox Sport Compact Brake Kits
TAROX Sport Compact brake kits take everything we have learnt in a 40+ year history, transfers it, shrinks it, engineers it into something more compact and more accessible. With the Sport Compact kit we set out to engineer the full TAROX experience just in a more economical way.
Caliper model shown: B280-6
Typically used in kits with discs ranging from 275mm to 295mm in diameter
Tarox Sport Brake Kit
The ‘Sport’ brake kit is where it all began for TAROX brake kits. With most Sport kits available with our B32 6 piston caliper, the direct descendant of the 6 piston caliper used in the first ever TAROX brake kit -developed for the BMW E30 M3 in 1994. The use of high grade alloys to manufacture the caliper and inclusion of two piece discs, the likes of which had only been seen on the race circuit. TAROX founder Gianni Taroni decision to ignore convention and develop a 6 piston caliper rather than 4, combined with the use of such high quality raw materials was a revolutionary step that affirmed TAROX as a pioneer of performance braking.
Tarox Super Sport Brake Kits
Most SuperSport kits will come with an 8 piston caliper. Both the B360 and B34GT callipers now utilise 8 sequential sized directional pistons complete with all weather seals to protect against all road conditions for thousands of miles. With the use of smaller pistons to make up a large piston area TAROX calipers provide the driver with more feel through the pedal resulting in better control of the huge amounts of available stopping power.
SuperSport kits are as happiest being thrashed round Thruxton on a Thursday while still being able to stand out from the crowd at Sunday’s show & shine ready. All TAROX callipers are manufactured in house at our North Italy facilities from the highest quality metals. Hand assemble after anodising its hard not to appreciate there beauty but every single aspect of design is there to ensure our callipers and discs are powerful, light and durable, able to take the most brutal conditions. The fact they so look so good is just a bonus.
The SuperSport kits are hugely capable and will offer a huge amount of extra stopping power, better pedal feel and modulation, and can often reduce un-sprung weight increasing all aspects of handling while looking very striking. With amazing road usability and a proven record in competition the Super Sport kit is a necessary upgrade for the serious driver. As with all TAROX kits the Super Sport integrates with all modern day driving assistants such as ECS, ABS and dynamic driving aid. All kits are manufactured to order to your exact specification with options including; Caliper colour, pad compounds and disc style.
TAROX Grande Sport Brake Kits
Designed originally to fill the increasing markets of high powered SUV and luxury sports cars, the Grande Sport kits are usually over 370mm in diameter and feature the striking B400RT and B40R 12 piston calipers. Application development of Grande Sport kits concentrates on some of the new generation of ‘super saloons’ such as the RS6, RS4, M5 and C63 AMG. Visually beautiful and with stopping performance to match they are the perfect choice for all performance cars fitted with at least 19’’ wheels. Each kit uses a set of pistons carefully matched to the individual vehicle, so although large, these calipers always retain excellent O.E pedal feel. Discs are a two-piece configuration to keep the overall weight to a minimum. The discs are machined from the finest quality European steel billet before being heat treated, faced, and hand finished to create a perfectly flat braking surface. The bell of the disc is machined from the same high quality alloy as the calipers and is hard anodised for protection from the elements.
As with all TAROX kits the Grande Sport integrates with all modern day driving assistants such as ECS, ABS and dynamic driving aids.
- Hand assembled calipers machined from the highest quality billet alloy
- Heat treated two piece discs in either Sport Japan, F2000 or D95
- Machined alloy mounting brackets with bolts
- Braided & coated brake lines
Rear Disc Upgrade
Rear disc upgrades are a great way of improving looks and performance on the rear of your vehicle when regulations from government bodies require the use of a mechanical caliper. These kits in most occasions use a two piece disc with a spacer bracket to relocate the original caliper in order to accommodate the larger disc.
As with all TAROX kits the Rear Disc Upgrade integrates with all modern day driving assistants such as ECS, ABS and dynamic driving aids.
